How I work
I practice from a person-centred, pluralistic perspective. Being person-centred means I believe you know best what you need. I will endeavour to understand your experience so that we can stand side by side as you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences.
Working pluralistically means I believe that there is no 'one size fits all' in therapy. I will work with you to co-create a therapeutic space that feels safe and supportive, checking in to make sure therapy is working for you. We can also use creative methods to explore your feelings and experiences.
As a counsellor I've worked for Islington Mind, counselling people with caring responsibilities, and for London Friend, counselling the LGBT+ community and people questioning their gender or sexuality. Now I work as a counsellor in private practice, alongside working for a mental health service.
I offer a free 20 minute initial phone call, where we can explore what brings you to counselling. This is also an opportunity to ask any questions you might have, and to help you to decide if we would be a good fit. After our intro call, sessions are charged at £50 for online/phone or £65 in person. I offer concessionary rates for those on a low income, please contact me for more details.
